Thornbridge 'Kill Your Darlings'
The red malty beer from Thornbridge brewers.
Thornbridge 'Kill Your Darlings' Review
Kill Your Darlings is an Amber/Vienna Lager brewed by Thornbridge Brewery in Bakewell England. Kill Your Darlings is a reddish brown lager with a medium body. Its characterised by its malty aroma and a slight malty sweetness when drunk. The real character of this beer comes from the late hopping with Amarillo and Tettnanger hops which is then cold fermented and lagered for 5 weeks before it is sold.
Kill Your Darlings crossed my path as a result of the Beer Bods subscription that I have and was the 1st Beer from my second batch. I consumed this beer along with a meal this week and I have to say that I was mildly impressed. Im not a big dark lager drinker and whilst its described as an amber lager its actually quite dark and pours with a thick beige head that slowly dissapates into the malty goodness.
Kill Your Darlings has the aroma of caramel and brown sugar and this follows through into the taste where you get a nice hoppy crispness. The lager is smooth and carbonated and went down well. Not my favourite but a nice change.
