Keter Mini Store it Out
Large plastic garden shed for under £100
Keter Mini Store it Out Review
The small garden storage solution.
Living in a house with a minimal garden means that you need tools to maintain it but you normally don't have room for a shed! This can be a real pain in the backside but the Keter Mini Store it Out is the solution.
The Keter Mini Store it Out is a fully waterproof plastic garden tool shed which is about a 5th of the size of a small traditional wooden shed but still has enough room to house 2 full size wheely bins or a mower and a selection of hand tools.
The Keter is a durable weather resistant box effectively, which opens from the top and includes a floor panel so your precious petrol mower isnt sat on mud! The Mini Store it Out also has a built in support for a shelf which isnt supplied and its lockable via a plastic clasp at the front.
Keter's mini Store it out measures approximatly 132cm wide 80cm tall and 23cm deep when it arrives in its flat pack form and weighs just 23 kg's. Assembled and its 130cm wide 74cm deep and 110cm high and weighs around the same at 22kg. Included in the package are the assembly instructions and the screws to assemble it. All in all it takes about 10 minutes to put together.
In mine I have stored the following items with ease:
- Petrol Mower
- Electric Leaf Blower
- Lawn Spreader
- Fork
- Spade
- Gloves
- Petrol in a 5L can
- Lawn Seed in a 5KG Box
- Lawn Moss Killer in a 10KG bag
- Spare strimmer string
Despite all of this being in there, there is still room for a few more bits. If your ground is even slightly uneven then you will need to level it because the slightest bump in the ground tends to distort the doors when they open and close. For that reason mine is sat on 2 paving slabs. My doors also caught on one occassion and the plastic hinge broke on the bottom. Now remember that this is plastic so frost and UV tends to degrade them and parts can become brittle over time which is why I think this part broke. A small dowel and it was back to normal business though.
Verdict
Overall I am really pleased with the Keter mini Store it out. Its a great addition to a small garden because it means your tools are housed in a dry secure place and not just thrown in a corner to rust or degrade. The roof of the box if its placed in the sun is also an ideal place for the cat to sit! It gets a 4 out of 5 from me.
